Here is my journey to find out what makes me unmistakable, what brings me joy... and to release the thoughts in my head.

Oh Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

Why do we put you up so late?
We wait so long, so you'll be strong.
You are quite small, yet contain us all.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree,
Please, I want Linda's caramels in my tummy!

(I know it's corny, but you have to see them to understand why I am so shameless!)

Sara at Greeting's from Butterville is hosting a Christmas Tree Festival. I can't wait to see every one's tree. Although, I must admit something. We are the type that wait until the middle of the month for our tree to go up. It is often a small one, and we place it on a table in the living room. Why? At first it was because of the baby. Then, it was the dog. Now? Well, now we just like the size. It is easy to manage. So, this tree is one from years gone by.

If you look closely, you will see some ornaments that are super special:

This one was made by my grandfather. We spent one Christmas at a Boy Scout camp, where we had a home made Christmas. The whole tree has these felt ornaments.

This bunny was given to me by my best friend in grade school. She made it out of an old lens from eyeglasses, a magazine clipping, lace, and is backed with felt.

This Santa is indeed placed to look up the angel's skirt. When I was younger, my uncle used to place an ornament in this place on my mother's tree. When he passed away, Nate insisted the flowers we buy have a Santa in UJ's honor. The Santa took up residence that year, and will likely do so for years to come.

So, these are only a few of the ornaments that I place each year. I hope that you will stop back soon to see if I was truthful about Santa. :)

Oh, and I didn't forget! Here is my......

100th Post Give Away!!

I started this blog over one year ago, and around this time last year, I changed the focus. It amazes me just how much it has changed. I realized this when one day, while bored, I noticed how close to 100 I was. I went back and read those first posts. If you are brave, you can too.

In any case, I needed some of these when I started to talk into the vast unknown:

And now, by by own 2 hands, I wish to send them to you. Three singing angels bringing joy to some lucky bloggy buddy. You know, in my eyes, that definitely includes anyone that comments on this post. I will draw the winner by Friday at 8 PM EST, and if you mention this on your blog, I will double your chances!

I wish you JOY this Christmas. To me, it is what makes things PERFECT!

i love ornaments that have a special meaning - the ones on my tree are antique ornaments that belonged to my great-grandmother. of course as you said when kids and animals come along they will be put away, but i enjoy them for now.
