Here is my journey to find out what makes me unmistakable, what brings me joy... and to release the thoughts in my head.

First white of the Season

We woke up this morning to snow. The scramble to get out snowpants, scarves, hats, and gloves was not, as you may imagine, to go out to build a snowman or to sled. Ruth was eager, yes, I said eager, to SHOVEL!

Can you see the shovel in her hands?

Several years ago, my sister suggested that the kids do jobs to earn money to donate food for the local food bank in my mother's honor. Ruth chose shoveling. She shoveled off the three front steps. Ever since, she has reached for the shovel when it snows. I am glad to let her. :) After she got the steps done, she did ask to go to Grandpa's to sled. I had to ask her to first dot he kitchen steps, which are usually my job. Though disappointed, Ruth understood why, and went about her business. Boy, I hope Santa can get her a good gift this year. :)

Oh, speaking of giving...

I thought you all should know to stop back in on Tuesday. I will be doing my 100th post, with a give away. I will also be shamelessly (if that is a word) displaying old Christmas trees in hopes of winning some of Linda's caramels. Just take a look and see if you can figure out why!
