Friday was my last day of work until the end of August. I do not know how it will work with both Darrell and I out of work, but I am going to do my best to not fret over it. You know why? Because I think I might find quite a bit of JOY in having time off with him. Take today for example. When our boys were little, we used to go fishing. Well, he would fish, I would read and take of the lunch, the boys, and that worked. I think... Well, anyway, today we spent an unheard of 4 hours out fishing. I got my license, a first, and though I caught nothing and he did, it was a good time. We took Brian, Ruth, and Sam to the local state park where there is a pond. DJ would have joined us, but he got called into work. He had spent about 3 hours fishing with Ruth, so he probably needed a break, :)
Sam doesn't often get to go on trips, there isn't enough room in one vehicle for him, and the kids. But, Darrell decided it would be best to bring 2 vehicles, so I brought Sam. :) He stayed leashed for a long time, whining because "daddy" would let him swim. HA! As soon as he went off to the other side on the pond, I loosened the rope enough so Sam could have fun. Eventually, we let him loose, and he smiled! I swear, if I had my camera you would have seen him. I was so proud of my pup. This was his first off leash, and he did great! He came when called, sat when asked, and them flopped in the happiest way at my feet when he was tire of swimming.
Now, Darrell is off fishing, and I am at home, chilling. If today is an example of how the summer might go, I can't wait!
