A snow day treat

We had our first snow day today.
It's not the first snow of the year, but the first day off from work or school.
I worked from home, typing observations and updating files. Then, the kids and I played Monopoly Jr. (Brian and I have decided to add Ruth to the Monopoly list of folks not to play with.) and Life. I lost both games, and not by just a little. Believe me when I say my kids get their game sense from their father. :)
The snow started around 12:30, and by 1 PM the roads were thick enough for Darrell to fish tail. Ruth spent time out with Sam, getting wet and cold. Her cheeks are a rosy red, and I just love to kiss them when she comes in to get dry and warm. :)

Later on, he and Ruth went for a snowy walk in the woods. The steps sit in waiting for care, but I think it doesn't matter. They will be full if we start now, or if we wait until morning. Though, I must say that the head of the driveway is getting cleaned off now. That will done several times to ensure it can be. The snow gets heavy and thick from the state snowplows.

And, waiting for someone to warm their bellies, there is a snowman full of cocoa with a belly of snicker doodles. Yummy! (I guess I should have gone outside to get cold. But, he warmed me up just fine! :) )

(A treat from Kathy. I just think these are cute. I only wish I knew how to display their sweetness.)
Update at 8 PM:
I think I earned that cup of cocoa after all. DJ got stuck about 1/4 of the way into the driveway. Darrell and I had to go help him to get unstuck. (No, Mom & sisters, I did not overdo it!) But, we do have about 9 1/4 inches of snow and lots more to come. Well, at least we should have a white Christmas. :)

First of all, Merry Christmas! Secondly, love your snowman mug and snow days. Thirdly, how is your son doing after his heartbreak?
