Last fall I attended a women's retreat about the Sabbath. I found the little things in life that make my days seem better. At first, I created a ritual of each evening at around 6:30, we would turn of the TV, play soft instrumental music, and relax. By "we" I meant "I". The kids would disappear, except Ruth. It became a time to read or snuggle. But, somehow, it went to the wayside.
This morning, I was looking to change my background on my desktop when I found this :
It is a drawing of the Chartres labyrinth. At the retreat, this was used as a base for helping us to find the quiet in our souls. A peaceful space to work out the things that need to worked out. I forgot about the mini labyrinth we were given to aid through the year in becoming centered on what it is God wants in our lives. Maybe, just maybe, I will pull it out and give it a try. Today. When so many things are going on, and I am feeling a bit nutty.
