Don't Give Up on Me

Wow, I am so shocked!
I just have not had the time to sit and reflect here, or on any of the others blogs I write on. I have missed so much of the lives of those I tried to connect to daily while unemployed for the summer. My new job has me hopping, and I am loving it! In the parenting area, I have been spending time getting to know my future daughter-in-law via emails. Life has been good, that is for sure.
That said, we are teetering on a crisis. The economy has struck close to home. My hubby, Darrell, has worked for the largest casino in the world for the past 9 years. This is the place that was supposed to be a sure fire winner to fulfill our area's employment quotas. They just did a 700 million dollar expansion with in the past year. Guess what!?! They have halted all work. And announced 700 employees would be layed off. Darrell is certain he will be one of those to go. Before you start to feel bad for us, understand we are looking at this as a blessing. He has not been well for years. We pass like ships int he night, except when I am home for the summer. This allows someone to be home with Ruth when she needs to be home. It means I do not need to struggle to make a work schedule fit around appointments for her. There are good things. Those are my focus.
And here is why, for today at least:
A quote from Colen, my future DiL:
So do not worry about it Tita as it is in the Bible as i think in Matthew 6:25-34
Do Not Worry
25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I hope that passage from the Bible will strengthen you and will help you not to worry things in life as we are the children of God and he wont let us down and suffer but if things happen like that we are only test how big our faith to him.

I am looking up, and forward, not backwards and down. Darrell and I have some common goals to achieve, and that is a benefit to our family. So, I will post soon about the guinea pigs, my quirks, and how much joy there is in helping those that are not as well off as you might be.

Keeping the faith,
Cindy P :)
