Prayers, please

I blog with my family. We post from Vermont to Virginia to Japan, or anywhere else Nate might be sailing. This morning Nate's post was about his fiance:

"i am right now asking for your support and prayer for Mae. there is a terrorist group where she lives called MILF( Moro Islamic Liberation Front) and they are bombing around where she lives. it is bad enough to where the president of the Philippines has ordered a red alert to her area and stationed a couple thousand soldiers to help prevent anymore terrorist events there. that is all for now, will keep updating as i get info"
This is a story I found relating to the concern: Muslim rebels kill 7 soldiers in Philippine south - Boston.com

Here is a photo of Mae:

I know from being the mother of a man in uniform that it is scary to be away from your loved one, and know stuff is going on that you have no control over. I can only ask for any amount of prayer that you can give. I hope to be updated, but I do not control that. Nate is new to this being worried about another's life. You know when he is feeling protective. I would love to protect him too. But, as with much else in this sailor's mother's world: I leave that to the One who watches over us all.
