This is a subject that I struggled with in school. The last weeks of classes focused on setting some goals, both long and short term. I stink at it. I do not know if it is because I have had so many ups and downs or if I am just not goal oriented. They just do not work for me, at least not the written down type.
Last week, I finished my degree. I had a goal to get my kitchen painted. I had about one hundred flowers to plant. These are done. Now what?
Well, one goal is to ensure that Ruth is getting her sensory diet. This has been somehow set aside, but it is so essential. I will work out a schedule. Maybe, I should add a goal of exercising for 15 minutes a day and a walk to the end of my 1/4 mile driveway. I would like to to have this in place and part of everyday for the next three weeks. This is a SMART goal.
Specific -- add exercise/ sensory diet to the schedule
Measurable-- 15 minutes each day
Attainable-- I can do anything for 15 minutes
Realistic-- I do not think this is an outrageous goal
Timely-- the plan is to have this in place for the next three weeks.
I will be paying attention to this goal. I also need to consider how I will add more writing time. This is a good goal as well. I have to think about how to make it smart though.
